It has been reported that UK hacker, Alistair Peckover, has been sentenced to 20 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to 2 charges of fraud and 50 other related offences.
Peckover was involved in gaining access personal identifiable information of victims and subsequently obtaining credit cards, opening bank accounts as well as betting account with services such as Ladbrokes using the identities of his victims.
According to a report by the Register, this scam got him a haul of a Porsche, and £40,000 in cash (in Sterling and Euros) stuffed into two containers. Detectives also seized a Breitling watch, a Rolex watch, a Nintendo Wii console, a Pioneer car stereo, the bullion in small handsize bars and six computers from Peckover's home. Passports in three names that he had used were also found.
Peckham was sentenced at Southend Crown Court in Essex. Four months of his sentence was in respect of breach of a previous suspended conviction.
